Although the competing superstars are still unnamed, many are pretty ecstatic to watch Wrestlemania 29. This annual event has always stirred up controversies and excitement not just for the WWE superstars but also for the fans. You have never seen an event so widely anticipated for over decades. Who could blame them? Aside from its entertainment factor, you can never find wrestling professionals as good as these guys. They are the crème of the crop in the wrestling industry, which makes it all the more exciting for every viewer. And this is very evident with the millions of fans of WWE not just inAmericabut around the world.wrestlemania 29

Wrestlemania is also known as the “The Grandaddy of Them All”. It is a worldwide global wrestling event that draws the attention of millions of wrestling and entertainment fans every year. It has lasted for more than 28 editions, with the 29th anniversary taking place in 2013.

Wrestlemania has easily become the most prominent event in professional wrestling. Its success have launched many of the WWE’s superstars careers’ such as Macho Man, Hulk Hogan, Bret Hart, Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Rock, The Undertaker, and more.  This event usually takes place in late March or early April yearly.

Aside from title matches (World Heavyweight Championship and WWE Championship), Wrestlemania is also well known for putting up specialty and gimmick matches such as the recently addition of Money in the Bank. In this match, the only way to be declared the winner is to climb a ladder and reach a briefcase suspended high above the ring while fighting off competitors. This fast pace and exciting match, filled with high flying maneuvers, amazing aerobics and stunts. It has been a crowd favorite ever since.

Wrestlemania is also one of the most highly attended events in the history of sports entertainment. Yearly, it has been held in several large stadiums used by the NFL and the MLB. Those attendances goes from the low 54,097 at the 19th edition in Seattle to the current world indoor attendance record of 93,173 in Pontiac, Michigan at the event’s 3rd anniversary.

Many celebrities have also participated in Wrestlemania events in the past years. They had different levels of involvement though. The first edition witnessed boxing legend Muhammad Ali and Mr. T. Wrestlemania 2 witnessed a 20 man battle royal pitting WWE superstars against NFL players. Mike Tyson made an appearance in the Wrestlemania XIV as the special guest enforcer. And just recently, Oscar-nominated best actor Mickey Rourke appeared as a spectator for a match that ended with him delivering a knock out blow to wrestler Chris Jericho.

Hence, Wrestlemania shows no signs of slowing down. Today, there are still countless cities are still bidding for WWE to bring the event to them. Everybody just loves to meet their favorite superstar and watch them live on action.

Undertaker’s Winning Streak at Wrestlemania

In the past 5 years, the biggest match on the Wrestlemania card used to be the World Heavyweight Championship match or the fight for the WWE Championship belt. We’ve seen several controversial fights about these belts involving several of the most favored wrestling superstars like Randy Orton, John Cena, Batista and many more.

This went on for years until someone turned the spotlight to The Undertaker and his undefeated streak at Wrestlemania. He is the only wrestling superstar who remained undefeated in all of WWE history. Taker wins each fight that he has on this huge event with all his ability and strength. And this winning streak was actually something that has been cherished my many pro wrestling fans. It has been the basis of most of his fan base, which is really not surprising.

The Undertaker

wrestlemania 29The Undertaker’s real name is Mark William Calaway. He is signed to WWE and is the company’s most tenured performer superstar to date. Calaway started his wrestling career with World Class Championship Wrestling (WCCW) in 1984. He joined World Championship Wrestling (WCW) as “Mean” Mark Callous in 1989. When WCW did not renew Calaway’s contract in 1990, Calaway signed with the World Wrestling Federation. After debuting as Kane the Undertaker, the name was shortened to the Undertaker and he has remained with the company since.

Vince McMahon is still equally concerned of finding the suitable opponent for The Undertaker. Much like he’s finding a good match for the WWE Championship belt, the CEO is scanning every wrestling superstar if who has the guts and the ability to defeat the Phenom. There are some lucky contenders like Brock Lesnar. Triple H gave The Undertaker a really good fight. But in the end, the streak still stands. The Deadman still walks.

Many still aspires to face the Phenom on Wrestlemania. If they are to choose between the WWE Championship belt or a match to beat the streak, most superstar would prefer to beat the streak instead. It’s not just about winning a belt when it comes to The Undertaker’s winning streak. It is about recognition and dignity. It is a bragging right. And to be the one to beat the streak of one of the most amazing superstar in the WWE, you certainly know this is something huge.

There’s always a chance that the streak might never end and The Undertaker might retire with it as his legacy. Whichever way it goes, many people purchase Wrestlemania just to see Undertaker’s match.

Wrestlemania 29

Things are burning pretty hot for WWE (Word Wrestling Entertainment) as Wrestlemania 29 draws in nearer and nearer. Fans all over the world are just dying to find out who will fight who, who will make a comeback, who will be awarded with a lifetime recognition, who will make a scene, and which titles will be on the line.

And as the storyline gets hotter and hotter by the minute, old and new fans just can’t get enough of these wrestling superstars. It has been a part of our TV culture and will surely live on for years and years to come.

History of Wrestlemania

wrestlemania 29Wrestlemania is a professional wrestling event that was produced yearly in late March or early April. The first ever Wrestlemania event was in 1985, which was held in the Madison Square Garden in New York City. The 10th and 20th edition were also shot in this location.

Since its debut, Wrestlemania has been a part of American television culture. WWE produced 25 more editions of Wrestlemania over the years. The 29th will be held in East Rutherford, New Jersey in 2013. And certainly, this would not be the last one.

Wrestlemania has facilitated the rise to stardom of wrestlers including Hulk Hogan, Rowdy Roddy Piper, Macho Man Randy Savage, The Ultimate Warrior, The Undertaker, Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels, Steve Austin, The Rock, Triple H, Chris Jericho, Kurt Angle, John Cena, and CM Punk. Vince Kennedy McMahon is the genius behind this event. Born in 1945, McMahon is an American professional wrestling professional wrestling promoter, announcer, commentator, film producer, actor and former occasional professional wrestler. He is currently the Chairman, CEO and Chairman of the Executive Committee of professional wrestling promotion WWE. He acquired World Championship Wrestling (WCW) and Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW) and is now the sole major professional wrestling promotion in America.

Excitement Over Wrestlemania 29

I have always been a huge fan of the WWE since the beginning. I have been following this show since the 90s wherein the company still goes by the acronym WWF or World Wrestling Federation. And as expected, Wrestlemania never lost its clamor and appeal to its viewers. Yearly, every American is looking forward to this event like a child waiting for his favorite cartoon. In spite all of the controversies and issues faced by this form of entertainment, the public still loves it and looks forward to watch it each and every time.

It is quite obvious especially in the amount of merchandise available not just for young kids but also for adults. From video games to action figures, Wrestlemania is no longer just a television show. It is a culture.

Everybody is still hooked up and ecstatic to watch this event whether on pay per view, live streaming, or recorded.
